We've got a name!

With a little coaxing from the pitosen William Benjamin Gray decided he'd give this world a shot and mozy out of his comfy jacuzzi, on May 23, 2008. Weighing it at a whopping 6 pounds 12 ounces and a gargantuan 17 inches long, he is the shortest and fattest of our brood (not in the least fat, we know). As Dad always suggests, we stuck him in our pocket and went home today. Diedre already seems more rested from the hospital, while Rob feels frazzled after taking care of Caleb and Peter for a mere few hours. Wimp. It is a wonder any kids survive. Rob has decided that if he were a mother, all his kids would have been ungraciously returned to their Heavenly Father by now.
In all reality, I am very proud of Diedre. What a toughy! S
he continues to amaze me with her strength and patience.
And Caleb and Peter are both so much fun, even when I foolishly handed a chocolate frosty to each of them for dinner, somehow imagining that their white shirts wo
uld remain that way. Unbelievably they both sort of forgot about their chicken nuggets. "Dad is great! He gives us chocolate caaa.. . . . .frosties!"
Peter is warming up to the idea of having a new baby around. When I first told him why Mommy was not at home he said, "Hate Baby!" and sulked. This morning he wanted to see the baby over and over. Caleb is determined to be the best, most helpful big brother. He jumps at the chance to do anything for his baby brother, and giggles the entire time when he gets to hold Baby Willy.

All of us are glad Mommy and Baby are home safe and comfortable.

Yay! Thanks so much for the pics, Rob! It takes days of pulling teeth (it seems) to get Mindy's family to put up pics of their newborns (and updates weeks later for that matter). Loved the Bill Cosby reference. You're right, Diedre is amazing, I don't know how she does it! Call you soon bro!

HOORAY! What a perfect little guy! I am so happy for your family. I just visited Ginger (Sowby) Vandenberg this past Weds. to see her new little guy - Jacob - He is pretty chubby! (you can see him at my blog brackenbrood.blogspot.com) My babies are like yours - tiny little packages but oh so cute! Happy Healing Diedre!
